2023 NFL Draft Grades
3 Days and 259 picks later the NFL Draft is finally complete. Grades and reactions to all 32 teams draft haul.
The 2023 Draft is finally in the books so let's hand out some grades. Teams generally did a solid job of putting together strong draft classes this year but there were a few that stood out above the rest and a few with head scratchers.
Arizona Cardinals
1.6 - Paris Johnson Jr (OT) Ohio State
2.41 - BJ Ojulari (EDGE) LSU
3.72 - Garrett Williams (CB) Syracuse
3.94 - Michael Wilson (WR) Stanford
4.122 - Jon Gains II (IOL) UCLA
5.139 - Clayton Tune (QB) Houston
5.168 - Owen Pappoe (LB) Auburn
6.213 - Dante Stills (IDL) West Virginia
The Cardinals did an excellent job all weekend moving back and maximizing draft capital for the 2023 as well as the 2024 draft which is generally considered a better draft. A team with massive issues all along its roster adding more premium picks in the future is an excellent process. They were able to add talented players in Day 1 & 2 at multiple premium positions, generally getting those players later than public consensus.
Grade: A+
Atlanta Falcons
1.8 - Bijan Robinson (RB) Texas
2.38 - Matthew Bergeron (OT) Syracuse
3.75 - Zach Harrison (EDGE) Ohio State
4.113 - Clark Phillips III (CB) Utah
7.224 - DeMarcco Hellams (SAF) Alabama
7.225 - Jovaughn Gwyn (IOL) South Carolina
Arthur Smith loves his running backs and was determined to add the best one in the class. Bijan Robinson is an excellent player and one of the few backs potentially worth an early first but for a team with plenty of holes it’s fair to question the value. The rest of their draft was very solid. Bergeron is an instant impact guard that can slide to tackle in the future and I loved the additions of Phillips and Hellams, two players with excellent tape that slipped due to measurables.
Grade: B
Baltimore Ravens
1.22 - Zay Flowers (WR) Boston College
3.86 - Trenton Simpson (LB) Clemson
4.124 - Tavius Robinson (EDGE) Ole Miss
5.157 - Kyu Blu Kelly (CB) Stanford
6.199 - Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu (OT) Oregon
7.229 - Andrew Vorhees (IOL) USC
Baltimore did not have the most picks in this year's draft so it is hard to have strong feelings about their class either way. I’m sure Ravens fans are over the moon about the addition of Zay Flowers given the WR room they have had to deal with over the past couple years. The additions of Trenton Simpson and Andrew Vorhees are two savvy moves to take advantage of a pair of good players slipping.
Grade: B
Buffalo Bills
1.25 - Dalton Kincaid (TE) Utah
2.59 - O’Cyrus Torrence (OG) Florida
3.91 - Dorian Williams (LB) Tulane
5.150 - Justin Shorter (WR) Florida
7.230 - Nick Broeker (IOL) Ole Miss
7.252 - Alex Austin (CB) Oregon State
The Bills had one goal this offseason and that was to make their offense deeper and more versatile so Josh Allen can play less hero ball. Dalton Kincaid and O’Cyrus Torrence are two players that will allow them to play with more size on the field and hopefully diversify their offensive play calling. I was also a fan of the Day 2 flier on Dorian Williams as a potential Tremaine Edmunds replacement,
Grade: B+
Carolina Panthers
1.1 - Bryce Young (QB) Alabama
2.39 - Jonathan Mingo (WR) Ole Miss
3.80 - DJ Johnson (EDGE) Oregon
4.114 - Chandler Zavala (IOL) NC State
5.145 - Jammie Robinson (SAF) Florida State
I loved the Panthers pick of Bryce Young but you don’t really get points for picking a good player #1 overall (that’s kind of the expectation). Thankfully I loved their other additions they made in the draft. Jonathan Mingo should act as a super charged Allen Lazard and give Young a rookie WR he can grow with. The reuniting of Chandler Zavala next to Icky Ekonwu on the left side gives the Panthers a mean nasty duo on the offensive line.
Grade: B+
Chicago Bears
1.10 - Darnell Wright (OT) Tennessee
2.53 - Gervon Dexter (IDL) Florida
2.56 - Tyrique Stevenson (CB) Miami
3.64 - Zacch Pickens (IDL) South Carolina
4.115 - Roschon Johnson (RB) Texas
5.148 - Noah Sewell (LB) Oregon
5.165 - Terell Smith (CB) Minnesota
7.218 - Travis Bell (DT) Kennesaw State
7.258 - Kendall Williamson (SAF) Stanford
Chicago did an excellent job of adding skill to their roster during Free Agency and turned to the trenches in the NFL Draft. It’s fair to question the value of some of their selections relative to the board, especially in Round 1 but it’s hard to knock the philosophy. A sneaky pick that could return immediate value for them is Roschon Johnson, a player with all the qualities of a starting RB who should have a better pro career than college.
Grade: B-
Cincinnati Bengals
1.28 - Myles Murphy (EDGE) - Clemson
2.29 - DJ Turner II (CB) Michigan
3.95 - Jordan Battle (SAF) Alabama
4.131 - Charlie Jones (WR) Purdue
5.163 - Chase Brown (RB) Illinois
6.206 - Andrei Iosivas (WR) Princeton
6.217 - Brad Robbins (P) Michigan
7.247 - DJ Ivey (CB) Miami
The Bengals are a Super Bowl caliber team that has no “big needs”. Their draft was set up to add strong role players who can slide into starting spots down the line when their incumbents depart. Cincinnati has been a DB factory the past two years which should make Bengal’s fans extremely excited for the future of DJ Turner and Jordan Battle, two high quality collegiate players.
Grade: A
Cleveland Browns
3.74 - Cedric Tillman (WR) Tennessee
3.98 - Siaki Ika (IDL) Baylor
4.126 - Isaiah McGuire (EDGE) Missouri
5.140 - Dorian Thompson-Robinson (QB) UCLA
5.142 - Cameron Mitchell (CB) Northwestern
5.190 - Luke Wypler (IOL) Ohio State
The Browns first pick wasn’t until Round 3 in the 2023 NFL Draft but they did an excellent job with what they had. The Browns entered the draft needing to add depth on both sides of the line and some size in the WR room. Cedric Tillman, Siaki Ika and Isaiah McGuire their first three picks checked all those boxes.
Grade: A-
Dallas Cowboys
1.26 - Mazi Smith (IDL) Michigan
2.58 - Luke Schoonmaker (TE) Michigan
3.90 - DeMarvion Overshown (LB) Texas
4.129 - Viliami Fehoko Jr (EDGE) San Jose State
6.178 - Eric Scott Jr (CB) Southern Mississippi
6.212 - Deuce Vaughn (RB) Kansas State
7.244 - Jalen Brooks (WR) South Carolina
Dallas is a playoff caliber team in win now mode and used their draft to add instant impact players. Mazi Smith and Luke Schoonmaker may not have the highest upside in this class but they are both NFL ready players that play positions of need for the Cowboys. The Cowboys also had one of the coolest moments of the draft when they added Deuce Vaughn who’s Dad is a scout for the team, making for an emotional pick on Day 3.
Grade: B
Denver Broncos
2.63 - Marvin Mims Jr (WR) Oklahoma
3.67 - Drew Sanders (LB) Arkansas
3.83 - Riley Moss (CB) Iowa
6.183 - JL Skinner (SAF) Boise State
7.257 - Alex Forsyth (IOL) Oregon
Denver was another team with little draft capital heading into the night that did a good job finding value. Mims, Sanders and Moss were three players in my Top 100 players that they got for good value. Unfortunately their draft grade was dragged down by a poor trade in the third round where they moved up 20 spots (roughly a 6th round value of movement) and gave up a future 3rd.
Grade: B-
Detroit Lions
1.12 - Jahmyr Gibbs (RB) Alabama
1.18 - Jack Campbell (LB) Iowa
2.34 - Sam LaPorta (TE) Iowa
2.45 - Brian Branch (SAF) Alabama
3.68 - Hendon Hooker (QB) Tennessee
3.96 - Brodric Martin (IDL) Western Kentucky
5.152 - Colby Sorsdal (OT) William & Mary
7.219 - Antoine Green (WR) - North Carolina
If you covered up where the Lions took each of their top 5 players and just looked at the talent this is an A grade draft. Unfortunately for Detroit that is not how this process works. In reality they used their top two picks on positions of lesser value on players that are not special enough to justify breaking trends. The Lions ended up with 4 quality players that should contribute right away but it’s hard to be a little disappointed in a front office that has done such a great job over the past couple years.
Grade: B-
Green Bay Packers
1.13 - Lukas Van Ness (EDGE) Iowa
2.42 - Luke Musgrave (TE) Oregon State
2.50 - Jayden Reed (WR) Michigan State
3.78 - Tucker Kraft (TE) South Dakota State
4.116 - Colby Wooden (EDGE) Auburn
4.149 - Sean Clifford (QB) Penn State
4.159 - Dontayvion Wicks (WR) Virginia
6.179 - Karl Brooks (IDL) Bowling Green
6.207 - Anders Carlson (K) Auburn
7.232 - Carrington Valentine (CB) Kentucky
7.235 - Lew Nichols III (RB) Central Michigan
7.242 - Anthony Johnson (SAF) Iowa State
7.256 - Grant DuBose (WR) Charlotte
The irony of the Packers finally investing heavily in pass catches a few days after trading Aaron Rodgers is one of the funnier draft storylines. Green Bay started the draft with their typical defense pick based on athleticism and traits. After that they did an excellent job rounding out their offensive skill positions group by adding size and toughness at both WR and TE.
Grade: A-
Houston Texans
1.2 - CJ Stroud (QB) Ohio State
1.3 - Will Anderson (EDGE) Alabama
2.62 - Juice Scruggs (IOL) Penn State
3.69 - Tank Dell (WR) Houston
4.109 - Dylan Horton (EDGE) TCU
5.167 - Henry To’oTo’o (LB) Alabama
6.201 - Jarrett Patterson (IOL) Notre Dame
6.205 - Xavier Hutchinson (WR) Iowa State
7.248 - Brandon Hill (SAF) Pittsburgh
It’s hard not to be excited as a Texans fan after adding two franchise cornerstones at #2 & #3 overall to kick start this rebuild. Stroud and Anderson are two high caliber prospects that should be instant impact players for Houston. From a draft evaluation stand point however the overall class is a little lackluster. The trade up for Anderson was a lot to pay for a non QB and the pick of Juice Scruggs was a big reach according to the consensus big board. Texans fans should be stoked about the players added but the front office might want to expand their analytics department for next year.
Grade: B-
Indianapolis Colts
1.4 - Anthony Richardson (QB) Florida
2.44 - Julius Brents (CB) Kansas State
3.79 - Josh Downs (WR) North Carolina
4.106 - Blake Freeland (OT) - BYU
4.110 - Adetomiwa Adebawore (IDL) Northwestern
5.138 - Darius Rush (CB) South Carolina
5.159 - Daniel Scott (SAF) California
5.162 - Will Mallory (TE) Miami
5.176 - Evan Hull (RB) Northwestern
6.211 - Titus Leo (EDGE) Wagner
7.221 - Jaylon Jones (CB) Texas A&M
7.236 - Jake Witt (OT) Northern Michigan University
The IndianpolRAS Colts struck again in the 2023 draft. They invested heavily in premium athletes at premium positions and ended up with one of the best overall draft classes. The Colts were able to accumulate strong trade value by moving back multiple times on Day 2 and still were able to add high quality prospects on all three days of the draft.
Grade: A+
Jacksonville Jaguars
1.27 - Anton Harrison (OT) Oklahoma
2.61 - Brenton Strange (TE) Penn State
3.88 - Tank Bigsby (RB) Auburn
4.121 - Ventrell Miller (LB) Florida
4.130 - Tyler Lacy (IDL) Oklahoma State
5.136 - Yasir Abdullah (EDGE) Louisville
5.160 - Antonio Johnson (SAF) Texas A&M
6.185 - Parker Washington (WR) Penn State
6.202 - Christian Braswell (CB) Rutgers
6.208 - Erick Hallett (SAF) Pittsburgh
7.226 - Cooper Hodges (OT) App State
7.227 - Raymond Vohasek (IDL) North Carolina
7.240 - Derek Parish (EDGE) Houston
The Jacksonville Jaguars were one of the biggest winners on Day 1 & Day 3 of the draft through trade backs and strong value picks across the board. However, Day 2 is a big black mark on the overall class as a whole. A trade up for a limited tight end in Brenton Strange and investing their only third in a backup running back is a far cry from what they were able to accomplish on Day 1 & 3. Trent Baalke is getting better at this but still has his blemishes.
Grade: B-
Kansas City Chiefs
1.31 - Felix Anudike-Uzomah (EDGE) Kansas State
2.55 - Rashee Rice (WR) SMU
3.92 - Wanya Morris (OT) Oklahoma
4.119 - Chamarri Conner (CB) Virginia Tech
5.166 - BJ Thompson (EDGE) Stephen F Austin
6.194 - Keondre Coburn (IDL) Texas
7.250 - Nic Jones (CB) Ball State
It’s tough to sit here and knock the draft of the defending Super Bowl champions especially after what they got from their class last year but I’m going to do it. First round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah is a fine pick but the selection of Rashee Rice is not one I’m a fan of and the trade up for Wanya Morris was poor value for a player who won’t contribute right away.
Grade: C+
Las Vegas Raiders
1.7 - Tyree Wilson (EDGE ) Texas Tech
2.35 - Michael Mayer (TE) Notre Dame
3.70 - Byron Young (IDL) Alabama
3.100 - Tre Tucker (WR) Cincinnati
4.104 - Jakorian Bennett (CB) Maryland
4.135 - Aidan O'Connell (QB) Purdue
5.170 - Christopher Smith (SAF) Georgia
6.203 - Amari Burney (LB) Florida
7.231 - Nesta Jade Silvera (IDL) Arizona State
The Raiders in my opinion had one of the more underrated drafts of the weekend. I’m not the biggest Tyree Wilson fan but the additions of Mayer, Young and Bennett were all great value on players that should be day one contributors. Vegas is a little ways away from being competitive in the AFC West but their 2023 class was a good step in the right direction.
Grade: B+
Los Angeles Chargers
1.21 - Quentin Johnston (WR) TCU
2.54 - Tuli Tuipulotu (EDGE) USC
3.85 - Daiyan Henley (LB) Washington State
4.125 - Derius Davis (WR) TCU
5.156 - Jordan McFadden (IOL) Clemson
5.200 - Scott Matlock (IDL) Boise State
7.239 - Max Duggan (QB) TCU
Nobody watched more TCU tape than Tom Telesco this offseason. The Chargers added multiple speedsters from the Horned Frogs team, a trait they were severely lacking last year. The additions of Tuipulotu and Henley were good value at positions LA lacks depth at.
Grade: B+
Los Angeles Rams
2.36 - Steve Avila (IOL) TCU
3.77 - Byron Young (EDGE) Tennessee
3.89 - Kobie Turner (IDL) Wake Forest
4.128 - Stetson Bennett (QB) Georgia
5.161 - Nick Hampton (EDGE) App State
5.174 - Warren McClendon Jr (OT) Georgia
5.175 - Davis Allen (TE) Clemson
5.177 - Puka Nacua (WR) BYU
5.182 - Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson (CB) TCU
5.189 - Ochaeun Mathis (EDGE) Nebraska
6.215 - Zach Evans (RB) Ole Miss
7.223 - Ethan Evans (P) Wingate
7.234 - Jason Taylor II (SAF) Oklahoma State
7.259 - Desjuan Johnson (EDGE) Toledo
Two years removed from their Super Bowl win and the Rams roster is extremely barren. They needed a large influx of talent especially on defense where only two starters from the 2021 team remain. Despite lacking a first round pick they did a strong job of adding high floor polished players that can contribute significant snaps right away.
Grade: B
Miami Dolphins
2.51 - Cam Smith (CB) South Carolina
3.84 - Devon Achane (RB) Texas A&M
6.197 - Elijah Higgins (WR) Stanford
7.238 - Ryan Hayes (OT) Michigan
The Miami Dolphins only had four picks in the 2023 Draft and failed to really maximize them. The Cam Smith pick is an excellent one but using a Top 100 pick on another running back is questionable despite how much I like Achane. I would have liked to see them try and trade back (I know easier said than done) to try and accrue more capital and add more draft bullets to the chamber.
Grade: C +
Minnesota Vikings
1.23 - Jordan Addison (WR) USC
3.102 - Mekhi Blackmon (CB) USC
4.134 - Jay Ward (CB) LSU
5.141 - Jaquelin Roy (IDL) LSU
5.164 - Jaren Hall (QB) BYU
7.222 - DeWayne McBride (RB) UAB
The Vikings opened up their draft with a pair of very lean framed prospects, thankfully they are both good football players. Assuming their bodies hold up Addison and Blackmon should help fill immediate needs for the Vikings. 7th Round pick DeWayne McBride is a 3rd Round talent and a perfect scheme fit in Minnesota, if he can figure it out off the field he could be a steal.
Grade: B+
New England Patriots
1.17 - Christian Gonzalez (CB) Oregon
2.46 - Keion White (EDGE) Georgia Tech
3.76 - Marte Mapu (LB) Sacramento State
4.107 - Jake Andrews (IOL) Troy
4.112 - Chad Ryland (K) Maryland
4.117 - Sidy Sow (IOL) Eastern Michigan
5.144 - Antonio Mafi (IOL) UCLA
6.187 - Kayshon Boutte (WR) LSU
6.192 - Bryce Baringer (P) Michigan State
6.210 - Demario Douglas (WR) - Liberty
6.214 - Ameer Speed (CB) Michigan state
The Patriots kicked off the draft with one of the biggest steals of the draft in trading down to still get Christina Gonzalez in the first. Their next two picks in Keion White and Marte Mapu are two very athletic defenders who fit the Pats mold. After that it got a little scattershot by adding not one but two different specialists, one they had to trade up for. Despite that their overall class ends up being one of the stronger in the draft.
Grade: B+
New Orleans Saints
1.29 - Bryan Bresee (IDL) Clemson
2.40 - Isaiah Foskey (EDGE) Notre Dame
3.71 - Kendre Miller (RB) TCU
4.103 - Nick Saldiveri (IOL) Old Dominion
4.127 - Jake Haener (QB) - Fresno State
5.146 - Jordan Howden (SAF) Minnesota
6.195 - AT Perry (WR) Wake Forest
The Saints love for Bresee was a poorly kept secret so it came to the shock of no one when he was their first round pick. The follow up selections of Foskey and Miller were solid but a little underwhelming. I think the value of the Saints class came on Day 3 with the selections of Saldiveri, Haener and Perry, three players who easily could have been Day 2 picks.
Grade: B
New York Giants
1.24 - Deonte Banks (CB) Maryland
2.57 - John Michael Schmitz (IOL) Minnesota
3.73 - Jaylin Hyatt (WR) Tennessee
5.172 - Eric Gray (RB) Oklahoma
6.209 - Tre Hawkins III (CB) Old Dominion
7.243 - Jordan Riley (IDL) Oregon
7.254 - Gervarrius Owens (SAF) Houston
The Giants kicked off their draft with arguably the best trio of picks in this entire draft. Their three biggest needs coming into the weekend were CB, IOL and WR. They were able to not only address those needs but do it with players who were BPA on the board at the time. I’m also excited to see what Eric Gray can do as a change of pace back in this offense.
Grade: A
New York Jets
1.15 - Will McDonald IV (EDGE) Iowa State
2.43 - Joe Tippmann (IOL) Wisconsin
4.120 - Carter Warren (OT) Pittsburgh
5.143 - Israel Abanikanda (RB) Pittsburgh
6.184 - Zaire Barnes (LB) Western Michigan
6.204 - Jarrick Bernard-Converse (CB) LSU
7.220 - Zack Kuntz (TE) Old Dominion
The two spot trade back the Jets made as a part of the Aaron Rodgers trade really came back to bit them in the butt. The small drop moved them behind the tackle run and they were forced to reach (in my opinion) on an undersized EDGE. The additions of Tippmann and Abanikanda should be good ones but they are not enough to overcome what feels like a missed opportunity to add a difference maker at tackle.
Grade: C+
Philadelphia Eagles
1.9 - Jalen Carter (IDL ) Georgia
1.30 - Nolan Smith (EDGE) Georgia
3.65 - Tyler Steen (OT) Alabama’
3.66 - Sydney Brown (SAF) Illinois
4.105 - Kelee Ringo (CB) Georgia
6.188 - Tanner McKee (QB) Stanford
7.249 - Moro Ojomo (IDL) Texas
The Philadelphia Eagles have officially made it their goal to recreate the 2021-2022 Georgia Bulldogs defense. After adding two players last year they responded with three more in 2023. Roseman and the Eagles front office continues to invest in highly talented players in the trenches that can take over when their veterans move on.
Grade: A
Pittsburgh Steelers
1.14 - Broderick Jones (OT) Georgia
2.32 - Joey Porter Jr (CB) Penn State
2.49 - Keeanu Benton (IDL) Wisconsin
3.93 - Darnell Washington (TE) Georgia
4.132 - Nick Herbig (EDGE) Wisconsin
7.241 - Cory Trice Jr (CB) Purdue
7.251 - Spencer Anderson (IOL) Maryland
A+ grades are typically reserved for teams that draft well and maximize trade value but the Steelers draft was so good they are an exception. Their ability to blend BPA and drafting for need at nearly every pick was fantastic to watch. For a team that lagged behind its division mates last year a big draft was so crucial. Every single addition they made outside of their last pick projects to have an immediate impact role.
Grade: A+
San Francisco 49ers
3.87 - Ji’Ayir Brown (SAF) Penn State
3.99 - Jake Moody (K) Michigan
3.101 - Cameron Latu (TE) Alabama
5.155 - Darrell Luter Jr (CB) South Alabama
5.172 - Robert Beal Jr (EDGE) Georgia
6.216 - Dee Winters (LB) TCU
7.247 - Brayden Willis (TE) Oklahoma
7.253 - Ronnie Bell (WR) Michigan
7.255 - Jalen Graham (LB) Purdue
The 49ers had a couple picks I really liked in Ji’Ayir Brown in the 3rd and Darrell Luter Jr in the 5th but it’s really hard to have a generally positive take away from the class when they used a 3rd round pick on a kicker. Moody is a fine player and they did need a kicker but investing a premium pick on a kicker when you have other needs on your roster is poor process. The 49ers always are good enough that their annual head scratcher never really matters but with no amazing pick to offset the kicker selection it does drag down their draft grade,
Grade: C
Seattle Seahawks
1.5 - Devon Witherspoon (CB) Illinois
1.20 - Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR) Ohio State
2.37 - Derrick Hall (EDGE) Auburn
2.52 - Zach Charbonnet (RB) UCLA
4.108 - Anthony Bradford (IOL) LSU
4.123 - Cameron Young (IDL) Mississippi State
5.151 - Mike Morris (EDGE) Michigan
5.154 - Olu Oluwatimi (IOL) Michigan
6.198 - Jerrick Reed II (SAF) New Mexico
7.237 - Kenny McIntosh (RB) Georgia
Back to back years with stellar draft classes by the Seahawks with the only blemish being the positional value of their RB pick. Schneider and Carrol continueto invest in high floor and high character players who display Day 1 contribution ability. The Seahawks were able to plug big needs at CB, C, G, and WR3, as well as adding depth to the defensive line and running back room.
Grade: A
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1.19 - Calijah Kancey (IDL) Pittsburgh
2.48 - Cody Mauch (IOL) North Dakota State
3.82 - YaYa Diaby (EDGE) Louisville
5.153 - SirVocea (LB) Pittsburgh
5.171 - Payne Durham (TE) Purdue
6.181 - Josh Hayed (DB) Kansas State
6.191 - Trey Palmer (WR) Nebraska
6.196 - Jose Ramirez (EDGE) Eastern Michigan
For a team like Tampa Bay that needs a lot of talent replenished I thought they did a poor job of prioritizing day one contributors. The trio of Kancey, Mauch, and Diaby is a talented bunch but adding two rotational pass rushers and a small school player who will be moving positions is not going to make their team much better in the short term.
Grade: C+
Tennessee Titans
1.11 - Peter Skoronski OT) Northwestern
2.33 - Wil Levis (QB) Kentucky
3.81 - Tyjae Spears (RB) Tulane
5.147 - Josh Whyle (TE) Cincinnati
6.186 - Jaelyn Duncan (OT) Maryland
The Titans being able to add a premium offensive lineman in the first and still grab a talented successor to Ryan Tannehill is fantastic drafting. They also took calculated risks on talent in the later rounds of the draft. The big concern was not leaving with any WR help for this team. Currently it projects to be Treylon Burks and much else making it one of the weaker rooms in the NFL.
Grade: B
Washington Commanders
1.16 - Emmanuel Forbes (CB) Mississippi State
2.47 - Jartavius Martin (CB) Illinois
3.97 - Ricky Stromberg (IOL) Arkansas
4.118 - Braeden Daniel (IOL) Utah
5.137 - KJ Henry (EDGE) Clemson
6.193 - Chris Rodriquez (RB) Kentucky
7.233 - Andre Jones Jr (EDGE) Louisiana
Taking a 160 pound CB in the first round is not the hottest start to the draft, especially given who was on the board at the time. However, Washington was able to counteract that with some really strong drafting in the later rounds. The addition of Quan Martin gives them one of the strongest defensive backfields in the entire league and Ricky Stromberg projects as an impact starter at center.
