Summary
Caleb Williams is an elite playmaker that projects to instantly be one of the most dynamic signal callers in the NFL. The former Heisman trophy winner possess a unique blend of athletic ability and arm talent that makes him an elite player maker. Williams best fits in a pass heavy offense that uses a large amount of quick game and RPOs to take advantage of his accuracy, velocity and variety of arm slots. He also displays the touch and accuracy to attack defenses down the field both while stationary and on the move. Williams is a highly competitive QB who never takes plays off, he shows the ability to not be phased by pressure or his own mistakes. An aggressive thrower he is not afraid to trust his arm and throw into tight windows, but does have a tendency to put the ball in harms way. Williams is undersized for the position and it can impact his ability to throw over the middle of the field and navigate muddy pockets. He also has concerns about ball security when operating from the pocket, on multiple occasions his internal clock is half a second too slow. Williams is an above average processor but his aggressive nature often leads him to pass up easy completions and checkdowns. As it currently stands his best plays come when he is operating outside of the structure of the offense, when he gets to the next level he will need to polish up his drop back footwork and decision making in order to limit mistakes. Williams has the special tools to be a franchise altering quarterback. With his arm talent, athletic ability and penchant for making special plays he has a sky high ceiling making him a serious candidate to go Number 1 Overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
