Summary
Isaiah Foskey came into Notre Dame without a ton of fan fare as a fringe Top 200 player in the nation. It wasn’t until his Sophomore campaign that he became a full time contributor but the Senior EDGE defender ended up being extremely productive in South Bend with 27 sacks in 3 years. Foskey projects to be a stand up EDGE or OLB at the next level with the requisite athleticism to drop into space if needed. He is a plus all around athlete with his first step quickness really shining on tape. As a pass rusher he uses a collection of core moves to generate consistent pressure. Foskey showed a consistent ability to turn the corner and finish his sacks at the collegiate level. He does lack an elite trait as a pass rusher which makes him developing an advanced arsenal of rush moves the next level very important. Foskey loves to utilize a club rip move that was very effective in college but he needs to expand counters off of it, that take advantage of his quick feet and long arms. As a run defender Foskey won’t ever be an impact player but he plays with excellent leverage and rarely misses his assignment. He has enough size and length to set a strong edge and turn ball carriers back inside. Foskey is one of the higher floor EDGE rushers in this year's class with above average traits across the board. However a lack of an elite trait at his age indicates he is probably close to his ultimate ceiling. He projects to be a Day 2 player in the draft that can step in right away and contribute in a pass rush rotation. Foskey’s long term outlook indicates him being a strong No. 2 rusher with the athleticism to play all three downs, who wins with effort and technique.
