Summary
Kenny McIntosh the senior RB for Georgia didn’t get his chance to lead the backfield until this year. He proved himself to be a talented dual threat back for the championship winning Bulldogs. An intriguing blend of height, weight and speed McIntosh checks all the physical boxes of an NFL style back. A plus route runner with good body control and soft hands he is also NFL ready to contribute on passing downs. Pass pro still needs more work as his lack of experience shows up in that area of his game. The lack of reps also shows up as a runner with his feel for the game. McIntosh is a fluid runner with great speed, contact balance and solid change of direction skills for a player of his size. McIntosh does have a tendency to run a little high and this can limit his ability to translate his speed into power even with his excellent leg drive. His vision is above average but he lacks a feel for running lanes that top backs typically possess. Too often does he over run his blocks or drive head first into a pile when a path of least resistance exists. There is optimism that this will improve along with his pass blocking as he gains more game reps. McIntosh has the physical tools to be a dependable three down back at the next level, he just needs more experience. Teams on Day 2 of the draft looking for a solid back with upside likely will wind up with a player who’s pro career outshines his collegiate one.
