Sales Pitch: Rugged route runner who excels over the middle against zone coverage. Lacks the burst to be a true X but shows the blocking and YAC of a modern day power-slot.

Scouting Report
Jack Bech is a former 3-Star recruit from the state of Louisiana, where he was a state champion football and basketball player. He began his career at LSU where he was an instant impact player, leading the Tigers in catches his freshman year. Bech never fully built off that first year and transferred to TCU prior to the 2023 season. In 2024 Bech was an 2nd Team All-Big 12 honoree after posting over 1,000 yards and 9 scores.
Bech is a well built receiver with plus play strength and contact balance. A versatile player he showed the ability to align at all three receiver spots. Bech is at his best when aligned in the slot, the role he broke out in in 2021 with LSU. While he only took about 25% of his snaps there this year, he was Top-3 in Y/RR and Y/REC from the slot. Bech aligning in the slot allows him to get free two-way goes, which plays to his strengths as a smart and intentional route runner. He is at his best on short to intermediate in-breakers between the hashes. Bech is quick to get in and out of his breaks with a large frame to be a safe target over the middle. He shows good understanding of zone coverage and when to get his eyes around to his QB. He rarely puts the ball on the ground and is strong at the catch point even through contact. Bech’s size and contact balance make him an impactful player with the ball. He is quick to turn upfield after the catch, and has the upper body strength to run through arm tackles. His size and toughness make him an excellent blocker as well. TCU would use Bech not just from receiver alignments, but also wing-back and H-back looks to take advantage of his YAC and blocking abilities.
Bech was primarily an outside receiver at TCU, but lacks the athletic ability to live out there full time at the next level. He displays average burst and below average long speed, which limits his ability to beat man coverage. Bech struggles with fighting through press on the outside and the delays disrupt route timings. His burst limitations hurt his ability to quickly stack defenders and explode out of breaks. Bech has good size for the position but shorter arms for his height. His lack of length limits his catch radius, and when combined with inconsistent jump ball skills it can give him difficulties playing above the rim.
Bech profiles best as an F-WR in the modern day “Power Slot” role. While his athletic profile isn’t impressive, his hands, thick frame and YAC skills make him an effective zone beater. Bech doesn’t project to be a high pick given his physical skillset but his versatile nature and dirty work attitude gives him a shot to flirt with being a Top-50 pick.
