Scouting Profile: TreVeyon Henderson - RB - Ohio State
Sales Pitch: Dynamic runner with true three down value. A scary injury history and workload questions may lower his stock but has a legit case for RB2 in the class on tape.

Scouting Report
TreVeyon Henderson is a former 5-Star recruit from the state of Virginia. The former #1 RB recruit in the nation was an instant success at Ohio State receiving Freshman All-American honors in 2021. Henderson would go on rush for over 3,500 yards in his Buckeye career, with All-Big 10 honors in each of his 4 seasons, despite missing time in multiple of them.
Henderson is a dynamic runner with a low center of gravity. He is a very good athlete with easy acceleration to top speed through the hole. Henderson is a true homerun threat with the speed through the 2nd and 3rd level to destroy DBs angles and take runs to the house. He is adept at running in both zone and gap schemes. He shows excellent patience to let his blocks develop before putting his foot in the ground and getting upfield. Henderson’s low center of gravity and quick feet allow him to tempo his runs and set up 2nd level defenders. He does a good job getting skinny and finding narrow lanes in traffic when the play breaks down. He also displays natural forward lean to end runs on his chest and gain extra yards. Henderson is a true three down back. He is a natural catcher out of the backfield on checkdowns and screens, where he is quick to get upfield with the ball and is a nightmare for LBs in space. The part of his game that will make him the most money is his pass protection skills. Henderson is a willing and able blocker who brings the fight to defenders. He is good for at least one rep a game on a chip or one-on-one block, where the defender ends up on his rear. Henderson’s experience makes him very comfortable diagnosing blitzes and he uses his low center of gravity to set stout pockets.
Henderson has average size for a running back. He will likely never be much of a power-back even though he has solid play strength. He struggles to drive piles forward when defensive linemen are able to stand him up in the hole. He also goes down fairly easily on tackle attempts below the waist. LBs and SAFs that can attack his legs in traffic are able to chop him down consistently. The biggest question for Henderson will be his ability to hold up at the NFL level. A four year starter with over 550 carries to his name, he has absorbed quite a workload. For a back with a handful of multi-game absences due to foot injuries, a full workhorse role at the next level seems unlikely.
Henderson projects as a true three down starter who can play in either a gap or zone scheme. His explosiveness and 3rd down abilities should make him an impact starter at the next level. Medicals and teams’ faith in his long term durability make Henderson’s draft projection iffy, but based purely on the tape he is one of the best players in this class.
